Please contact me if you are considering purchasing or commissioning a painting.
Every painting is important, and my priority is customer satisfaction.
Ideally I like to meet the person and to get to know them. This helps me to understand the subject, their personality, their requirements and preferences. This first meeting allows me to produce sketches and take photographs, which are used as reference material to produce the completed portrait. The portrait's creation is a shared journey of discovery which can become a talking point for a lifetime.
Alternatively, I can paint portraits from your own, good quality, photographs. If possible, I would also like to meet the person whom I will be painting, for the reasons outlined above.
I welcome commissions, and I am able to work from both life and photos.
If using photos, I will require a selection of clear images generally taken from several angles.
Whenever possible, I prefer to take the photos myself - experience has taught me what to look for to make a successful painting.
Paintings can be either:-
a) Oils on a cradled plywood panel (see image)
b) Acrylics on canvas
Framing is at the discretion of the purchaser.
As an example of pricing... an individual monochrome portrait in oils (approximate size 10" x 12") would be £220,
or in colour £300; (approximate size 10" x 12"), excluding post and packaging.
I am happy to discuss any proposed commission.
We would need to consider the size, medium, colours, time-frame, venue, price etc.
Please note that the time-frame can vary from a few days to several weeks, to allow the oil paint to dry.
